Wounded in action, 4 July 1918 (gun shot wound, left eye and back); transferred to England, 16 July 1918, and admitted to Beaufort War Hospital, Bristol, 17 July 1918. Transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 25 July 1918; discharged to No. 1 Command Depot, Weymouth, 13 August 1918.
