Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 26 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 31 March 1916. Wounded in action, France, 22-25 July 1916 (gun shot wound, chest); admitted to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, 25 July 1916; transferred to 22nd General Hospital, Camiers, 27 July 1916; discharged to 6th Convalescent Depot, 1 August 1916; marched in to 1st Division Depot, Etaples, 18 September 1916.
