Military Medal 'During the preparations for the operations of YPRES on 1st October 1917, this N.C.O. had charge of a carrying party proceeding to WESTHOEK via CHATEAU WOOD. On reaching the wood the enemy put down a heavy barrage causisng several casualties, Cpl. LAMOND personally attended some of the wounded and got the remainder under good cover but was badly wounded himself. He set a splendid example of personally bravery and devotion to duty.'
