Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and untiring devotion to duty during the capture of the trenches near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. He did excellent work with the carrying parties and in the issuing to the best advantage the supplies taken up or captured. He was employed in clearing the dead from the trenches and later in supervising their burial under fire. On all sides reports have been received showing the cool and determined bearing of this valuable N.C.O. under the heaviest fire. He has been brought to notice for gallantry in every action in which his regiment has taken part.'
