'This Non Commissioned Officer has for over two years held a position as Confidential Clerk in the Office of the A.D.M.S., 3rd Australian Division. During the whole of this time he has been conspicuous for his devotion to duty and the keenness and thoroughness with which he has carried out his work. He has never spared himself in the interests of the service, frequently during times of battle working very long hours to ensure that all orders, instructions and necessary records were got out accurately and quickly. His work has always been conspicuous for accuracy and punctuality, and has contributed in no small measure to the smooth and efficient working of the Office.'
