Military Medal 'On 18th September, 1918, during operations east of HESBECOURT this N.C.O. showed skilful leadership, initiative and daring in action. During the attack three machine gun nests held up the advane and L/Cpl. LARSEN with the aid of a Lewis Gun accounted for the garrison, capturing 3 guns. Later on during the advance he observed a hostile machine gun team firing amonst his men. Working his way round the trench and crawling over the parapet he silenced the gun, killing 3 of the crew and capturing two prisoners. The work of this N.C.O. was of the highest order and inspired his men at all times.'
