Other details from Roll of Honour Circular | Enlisted October 1916, trained on Salisbury Plain, England. Arrived in France, 3 June 1917. Wounded in Belgium (nr Hill 63) at the beginning of March 1918, being hit in the leg by a HE shell after holding the line for 50 days. After hospitalisation in England, he had 14 days' leave which he spent in Ireland, followed by a further 4 days' leave in England for good conduct. He returned to France in mid July 1918, and was killed in action on 13 August 1918. |
