Military Medal 'On the night of April 24th 1918 South of VILLERS BRETONNEUX, Private BEALE was one of the Field Ambulance Bearers posted with the R.M.O. 50th Australian Infantry Battalion. The R.M.O. went forward to locate the Battalion Headquarters and was killed. Wounded were brought back by the Regimental Bearers and Private BEALE worked in the open throughout the night dressing wounded under heavy shell and machine gun fire.'
