Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and initiative during operations West of BELLENGLISE on the night of 18th/19th September, 1918. An enemy machine gun was holding up the advance and causing heavy losses. Private LEACH dashed forward with his lewis gun and firing from the hip he put the whole crew out of action. By his very brave action his company was able to advance. His behaviour was a very fine example to his comrades.'
