Meritorious Service Medal

'For consistent good work and extreme devotion to duty. Cqms. Leary from 25th February 1918 to 16th September 1918 has kept up supplies of technical signalling equipment and stores throughout most arduous period and operations in addition to his ordinary Cqms. work. He displayed great initiative and resource in sending up supplies during operations near Hamel on 4th July 1918 and 8th August 1918 to detached forward parties. He has constantly worked day and night without sparing himself to ensure that both stores and rations reach their destination. It is undoubtedly due to his inspiring efforts that material for maintaining communication has been kept up.'
