Military Medal 'For gallantry displayed on the night of 6th/7th August, 1915, when Platoon Sergeant of "A" Company, 13th Battalion, A.I.F. During the night advance of the 4th Brigade on that date the platoon, which Sergeant LEDDY was Platoon Sergeant, was ordered to clear a hill of snipers who were retarding the advance. Considerable opposition was encountered and the Platoon Commander was severely wounded. Sergeant LEDDY displayed exceptional bravery and skill in handling his men and successfully cleared the hill.'
