'During operations north west of POZIERES. Recommended for exceptional courage and admirable devotion to duty in carrying out their work as stretcher bearers from the night of 6th August, 1916 to 10th August, 1916. They [LEE and 1064 Edward MOLES] worked almost continuously under intense artillery fire carrying in and securing our wounded with a result that all of our wounded were rescued. These two men were previously recommended by 15th Battalion for work at GALLIPOLI, but did not receive an award.'
