Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry near WESTHOEK RIDGE on 29th instant. Private LEE was moving in the rear of the column when a shell severely wounded several men including Private LEE. Although severely wounded and dazed he remained under a heavy barrage binding up the wounds of the others. He continued in this work until exhausted when he was carried to the R.A.P. and evacuated.'
