Sergeant LEWIS has rendered on many occasions, very valuable service and has at all times set a fine example to his men, particularly during the period from the 1st September 1918 at PERONNE up to 1st October 1918 at BELLICOURT, when this N.C.O.'s efforts were most marked. His conduct and devotion to duty inspired his men during these important operations.'
