Meritorious Service Medal

'For conspicuous service and devotion to duty. This N.C.O., through his diligent and competent manner, has rendered excellent service to the battalion in the Quartermaster's Department. In the absence of the Q.M. he has frequently been called upon to control the Q.M. Stores and his capability in this respect has been very marked. During the periods when the battalion has been in the line, his efforts in providing additional food and comforts have been largely responsible for the constant good health and morale of the battalion.'
