Wounded in action (gun shot wound, foot: slight); embarked Mudros for Egypt, 22 August 1915; admitted to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh, 30 August 1915; transferred to Mena House Convalescent Hospital, 23 September 1915 (gun shot wound and diarrhoea); to A&NZ Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 8 October 1915; discharged to Base Details, Zeitoun, as fit for Active Service, 20 October 1915.
