War service: England Embarked Sydney, 4 May 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 9 July 1916. Medical report, Larkhill Camp, 11 September 1916: patient complained of pain in his side, severe cold and shortness of wind (had to be allowed to return to camp while out on the march); diagnosis: pleurisy and overage (50 last birthday); not physically fit for military service. Marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 19 October 1916. Commenced return to Australia from Plymouth on board HT 'Ulysses', 13 February 1917 (pleurisy); discharged, Sydney (medically unfit), 14 May 1917. Medal: British War Medal |
