'On four occasions under extremely heavy German barrages repaired repaired the telephone lines between the 60th Battalion Headquarters and 57th Battalion Headquarters GLENCORSE WOOD during the attack of 26th and 27th September, thus maintaining communication, also under similar circumstances one evening of 26th September he acted as guide for Pack Transport from Brigade Headquarters HOOGE to GLENCORSE WOOD and on other occasions conveyed messages to various parts of the Line. During these occasions this man showed conspicuous bravery and coolness.'
