Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, as one of a bombing party during a raid upon enemy trenches. He displayed great courage and initiative in working round a party of enemy bombers, killing and capturing them, and entirely breaking the enemy's resistance at that point.'
