Billeted after trench fever with French family who had been evacuated to Belgium (approx. 80 km from their French home). Before the war he worked night shift as a supervisor at the Townsville Meat Works. After the war as a Department Manager, Farmer & Co., George Street, Sydney. Married Beatrice Matilda Tymms at Haberfield Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie Street, Haberfield, New South Wales on 25 October 1925 and had one son, Colin born 15 January 1928. |
