Distinguished Conduct Medal 'During the whole period since 25 February 1918, he has displayed the greatest gallantry and energy as N.C.O. in charge of a company signal section in establishing and maintaining telephone communication. His keep devotion to duty, both in trench warfare and during the active operations since 8 August has been conspicuously noticeable. His marked ability under the most trying and exhausting circumstances has resulted in the successful expedition of all messages entrusted to him at all times.'
