Wounded in action (shell wound, left leg), 29 July 1916. Transferred to England and admitted to 3rd Northern General Hospital, Leicester, 7 August 1916. Discharged from hospital, 10 October 1916. Proceeded overseas to France, 16 January 1917; rejoined unit, 20 January 1917.
