Found guilty, Brightlingsea, 31 July 1917, of being absent without leave, midnight, 29 July, to 5.30 pm, 31 July 1917: awarded 7 days confined to barracks and forfeited 2 days' pay. Admitted to Colchester Military Hospital, 21 September 1917 (pleurisy); marched in to Engineers Training Depot, Brightlingsea from hospital, 2 October 1917; marched out to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 12 December 1917.
