Military Medal

'Sgt. BECKER'S work during operations at GLENCORSE WOOD, east of YPRES, on 20/21st September, 1917, was excellent. He was in charge of the A.M.C. Section of the Battalion and when on forming up tapes rendered valuable assistance by establishing a Dressing Station. This was done during the heavy shelling by the enemy and under very trying circumstances. When the Battalion adanced behind the barrage Sgt. BECKER followed closely to the attacking troops, and established his Aid Posts in such positions that he enabled the wounded to be dressed at the earliest possible moment. Sgt. BECKER'S work throughout the whole operations was excellent and his untiring energy and disregard for his own personal safety when heavily shelled was an inspiration to his Section and all members of the Battalion who witnessed it.'
