Attached for duty to Records, Anzac Section, 19 April 1917; rejoined 1st Australian Divisional Base Depot, Le Havre, 4 June 1917. Promoted Lance Corporal, 11 June 1917. Promoted Acting Sergeant, 26 July 1917. Proceeded to England, 26 September 1917, and reverts to the ranks of Lance Corporal the same day (classified as fit for Permanent Base service only); marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 27 September 1917.
