Transferred to 71st Squadron, AFC, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, 2 April 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 11 December 1917.

Regraded as Assistant Armourer (Non-Technical), 16 September 1918.

On leave to Glasgow, Scotland, 21 November-5 December 1918; rejoined 4th Squadron AFC, in the field, 16 December 1918.
