Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of a support platoon during an attack. He successfully kept up communications between the various parties, promptly informing his C.O. of the different phases of the situation, quite heedless of enemy machine gun fire at less than 50 yards.'
