'This Non Commissioned Officer displayed the greatest courage and determination. Under the most difficult and trying conditions in recent operations he has organised ration parties and never failed to consider the comfort and well being of the men of his Company fore his own personal safety. Frequently the delivery of rations to the front line was due to his organising ability and fearlessness.'
