Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in charge of a gun during the attack at St. Souplet, on 17 October, 1918. The enemy retaliated on the battery position very severely, wounding all his detachment. He manned his gun alone, and continued the barrage under heavy shell fire.'
