'During the period 25th February 1918 - 17th September 1019 this N.C.O. has most conscientiously carried out the duties of Orderly Room Sergeant. Frequently he has had to carry out his duties under heavy shell fire and he has always done his work thoroughly. During the recent fighting with its constant moving about, it has been no easy matter to keep the Battalion records up to date, but this has been successfully achieved by this N.C.O.'
