Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For gallant conduct and resource on several occasions during the operations at Quinn's Post (Dardanelles). Corporal Maher particularly distinguished himself as a brave and expert bomb thrower, and always exhibited the highest courage and devotion to duty.'
