Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He personally visited his power buzzer stations and kept them working under heavy fire, led carrying parties of men and mules to the front line, and when they were broken up by shelling, got them together again and succeeded in reaching the forward station, and so maintaining communications after other parties had failed.'
