Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of lorries dumping ammunition. The dump was heavily shelled all day, and he remained a his post though wounded directing operations, and getting all the lorries away safely. By his courage and coolness he set a fine example to all who came into contact with him.'
