Military Cross 'During the operation east of Joncourt, on 6th October 1918, he was Brigade F.O.O. He pushed forward prior to zero hour to a position in close proximity to the infantry jumping off line. He was early stunned by the bursting of a shell, but stuck to his duties throughout the day, showing great gallantry and energy, and by his information enabled the artillery to give full support to the infantry.
