Medals |
Military Medal 'For courage and devotion to duty at JEANCOURT on night 20th/21st September, 1918. It was essential that communication be maintained between Brigade Forward Station and Battalions, and just prior to the attack the lines were giving endless work and anxiety. Sapper MARTIN worked on them continually throughout the night, several times being severely affected with gas. In spite of this and heavy shell fire he worked on, and it was chiefly owing to his determination that communication was maintained at a critical period.'
