Meritorious Service Medal 'For meritorious service and devotion to duty. This N.C.O. rendered invaluable assistance to the Brigade Staff during the YPRES operations, September and October, 1917. He displayed extraordinary capability, zeal and enterprise in dealing with the numerous clerical details; his untiring energy and attention to detail has resulted in a high standard of proficiency in the Brigade Orderly Room. Sergeant MASON has been connected with the Brigade Orderly Room since the arrival of the Brigade in FRANCE, June, 1916.'
