Taken on strength, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, and proceeded to Western Frontier, 29 December 1915. Admitted to 26th Casualty Clearing Station, 27 April 1917; transferred to 24th Stationary Hospital, Cairo, 29 April 1917; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 29 April 1917 (tonsillitis). Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Regiment, from Convalescent Depot, 17 May 1917. Transferred to 3rd Light Horse Regiment, 13 July 1917. Wounded in action, 3 November 1917 (gun shot wound, leg); admitted to 24th Stationary Hospital, 6 November 1917; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 7 November 1917; reported seriously ill, 10 November 1917; removed from serious list, 13 November 1917.
