Military Medal 'At POLYGON WOOD on 26/28th September, 1917, throughout the entire action, this manUs amazing coolness in attending to the wounded acted as a great stimulus to the men. No place was too dangerous for him and on one occasion he went forward for a wounded man and gallantly brought him back amid a perfect tornado of Machine Gun bullets. The men all testify to his wonderful pluck.'
