Embarked Melbourne on HMT 'Commonwealth', 28 October 1917; disembarked Suez, 10 December 1917, and marched into Reinforcements Camp, Moascar; marched into 4th Training Regiment, 3 January 1918, and taken on strength, AAMC Training Cadre, Moascar. Detached to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital for instructional purposes, 7 January 1918; returned to unit, 24 January 1918. Temporarily transferred to 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment for rationing, 6 February 1918, returned to unit, 27 February 1918. Transferred to 8th Sanitary Section, 27 February 1918. Transferred to 12 Light Horse Regiment, 21 March 1918, and taken on strength, Belah.

Admitted to 4th Light Horse Field Ambulance, 6 April 1918 (rheumatic fever); transferred to 76th Casualty Clearing Station, 6/7 April 1918; to 43rd Stationary Hospital, 7 April 1918; to 44th Stationary Hospital, Kantara, 15 April 1918; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 16 April 1918; transferred to Troop Ship for return to Australia, 11 July 1918.

Embarked Cairo on HT 'Port Darwin', 12 July 1918; disembarked Sydney, 17 August 1918. Discharged as being unfit for service, Sydney, 24 September 1918 (osteo-arthritis).
