'In trenches South of PRONVILLE, CPL McCALLUM is recommended for consopicuous coolness and bravery under fire on 21st April 1917. An advanced post was being heavily shelled. This N.C.O. went under heavy shell fire and enemy sniping, brought in one wounded man and then guided to the post a stretcher party who brought in another wounded man.'
