Military Medal 'This soldier displayed great courage and devotion to duty on 18th September 1918, South East of Le Vergieur, North West of St. QUENTIN. He was a runner attached to a direction tape laying party. and when the party al, except one man had become casualties, he rendered very valuable assistance to his officer by carrying material for the Work in hand, under very heavy shell fire. he returned time after time to obtain fresh supplies and thus enabled the work to be carried out successfully.'
