Disembarked Alexandria, 5 September 1915, and admitted to No 3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, the same day (gunshot wound, thumb); transferred to Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 5 October 1915. Admitted to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Gezireh, 6 November 1915 (septic thumb); transferred to Ras el Tin Convalescent Home, 11 December 1915; rejoined 9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, Heliopolis, 18 January 1916.
