War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 30 August 1915. Admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, 23 November 1915; rejoined unit, 25 November 1915. Admitted to HS 'Glenart Castle', 8 December 1915 (trench feet); transferred to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 11 December 1915 (frost bite, feet); discharged to Overseas Vase, Helouan, 8 January 1916. Taken on strength, 59th Bn, Duntroon Plateau, 20 April 1916. Admitted to 15th Field Ambulance, Ferry Post, 17 May 1916 (ingrown toenail), and transferred same day to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station; discharged to unit, 23 May 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Reported Missing, 19 July 1916.
