Admitted to Field Ambulance, 28 August 1915 (gastro-enteritis), transferred same day to HS 'Gascon'; arrived Alexandria, 1 September 1915, and admitted same day to No 1 Australian General Hospital, Luna Park, Cairo. Transferred to Signals Section, 4 September 1915. Transferred to A&NZ Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 14 October 1915. Admitted to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 20 October 1915 (jaundice). Rejoined 2nd Bn, Tel el Kebir, 20 January 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 22 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 28 March 1916.
