Proceeded to 32nd Bn from 8th Training Bn, Zeitoun, 1 April 1916; taken on strength of 32nd Bn and reverts to Private, Duntroon Plateau, 1 April 1916. Promoted Lance Corporal, Ferry Post, 26 May 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916. Statement by Private D.L. Finey, 2028, on 10 June 1917, stated that saw Lance Corporal McGregor killed on 19 July 1916. Private McGregor now, 6 July 1917, to be reported as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'. Note, Red Cross File No 1910202, 'No trace Germany. Cert. by Capt. Mills. 10.10.19.' Statement, 2028 Pte D.W. FINEY, A Company, 32nd Bn, 28 December 1916: 'He says he saw the soldier killed at Fleurbaix on No Man's Land, was close beside him when he fell and could see he was dead.' Second statement, 2077 Pte L. MURCOTT, 32nd Bn, 3 May 1917: 'He was shot though the head just as he went over the top on July 19th against Fleurbaix.
