Military Medal 'At BULLECOURT on 11th April 1917 in the absence of stretcher bearers he did excellent work under shell and machine gun fire tending the wounded. When the enemy counter attacked he took charge of the men in his vicinity and held it off until the supply of bombs gave out. His example had an excellent effect on the others.'
