Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. He colunteered and personally conducted two guns over open ground under heavy machine gun fire to the outpost line and skilfully engaged the enemy infantry, breaking up an impending counter attack and keeping intact the flank of the battalion to which he was attached.'
