Military Medal 'On the 1st/2nd September, 1918, during the operations North of PERONNE, this Non Commissioned Officer was in charge of Company Headquarters and rendered invaluable assistance to his Company Commander acting as intermediary between headquarters and Platoons. Later, under heavy machine gun fire, he formed Company Headquarters into a bombing platoon and bombed an enemy trench by a flanking movement. His initiative and leadership were undoubtedly a factor in the success of the Company during the operations.'
