Suffered sunstroke at Thursday Island on troopship to Egypt; placed under medical supervision. 'Suffered considerably' in camp, and reported sick till ordered to Gallipoli.

Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 30 April 1915.

Wounded in action, gun shot wound, knee and head (no details recorded on Form B103).

Admitted to Deaconnesses Hospital, 12 May 1915 (not yet diagnosed: headaches); transferred to No 2 General Hospital, Ghezireh, 26 May 1915; to Base Details, Zeitoun, 2 June 1915.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HS 'Ballarat', 5 July 1915; disembarked Melbourne, 6 August 1915, for onward travel to Sydney; discharged Sydney (medically unfit: chronic headaches), 11 January 1916.
