Proceeded overseas to France and marched into 2nd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 14 July 1916. Mrached out to unit, 21 August 1916.

Admitted to 5th General Hospital, Rouen, 30 December 1916 (laryngitis); transferred to 2nd Convalescent Depot, Rouen, 7 January 1917; rejoined unit in the field, 26 January 1917.

On leave to England, 14 September 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 4 October 1918.

Marched out to England for return to Australia, 31 March 1919; commenced return to Australia on board 'Somali', 1 June 1919; disembarked Western Australia, 8 July 1919; discharged, 28 August 1919.
